- Applicants must have over 12 years of education (equivalent to completion of senior high school in Japan).

Applicants must have concrete purpose for studying in Japan and have the strong will to acquire the knowledge and skills required for the specialized field chosen.

Applicants must have studied the Japanese language at a Japanese language school recognized by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education for over 6 months, or must be students registered at an academic institution such as a university and hold excellent results and satisfying attendance.

Applicants must have achieved over Level 2 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, or have achieved over 200 points in the subject of Japanese language for the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU), or have a level of Japanese proficiency equivalent to either.

Applicants must be able to obtain or extend their entry visa (for education at a Japanese language school) from mid-March to after the end of March, 2008.
- Applicants must be both physically and mentally healthy, without any diseases or illnesses including any infectious diseases stated by law.

- Letter of recommendation (For accredited applicants. Use specified format.)
- Application material for consideration of entrance – Essay.
- Graduation diploma of final education in home country (graduation certificate accepted)
Provide English document and its Japanese translation. No restrictions on the format but must be signed.
- Passport and Alien Registration card (You may bring them with you when you apply in person. If you are applying by mail, attach a copy showing all registered fields.)

To alleviate the economical burdens of foreign students studying in Japan, we have set up a special scholarship system for foreign students.
Eligibility
Eligible students must be willing to study at this school from April 2009, and have ‘College Student’ visa.
Selection basis
Successful applicants need to achieve over 85 points in the entrance examination (Japanese written test) and will be determined through interview.
Exemption
The amount equivalent to the entrance fee will be exempt from the school fees for the second semester of the first year.

An overseas training trip is implemented in the second year either in Europe, America, or Southeast Asia. Participation fee is paid in 3 installments under a fund system.
Payment of each installment is paid 1. on entrance, 2. with the payment of the second semester school fee in the first year, and 3. with the payment of the first semester school fee in the second year. Additional costs may arise depending on the destination. The total fund amount is between 150,000 yen (50,000 yen per installment) and 270,000 yen (additional cost up to about 120,000 yen).
※There are cases in which fuel surcharges are added on the cost of the study tour.

An overseas training trip is implemented in the second year to participate in the Festival of Photography in Arles, France. Participation fee is paid in 3 installments under a fund system.
Payment of each installment is paid 1. on entrance, 2. with the payment of the second semester school fee in the first year, and 3. with the payment of the first semester school fee in the second year. Additional costs may arise depending on the destination. The total fund amount is 240,000 yen (80,000 yen per installment).
※There are cases in which fuel surcharges are added on the cost of the study tour.

An overseas training trip in the second year to participate in the Festival of Photography in Arles, France, and an overseas field work trip in the third year are implemented. Participation fee is paid in 5 installments under a fund system.
Payment of each installment is paid 1. on entrance, 2. with the payment of the second semester school fee in the first year, and 3. with the payment of the first semester school fee in the second year, 4. with the payment of the second semester school fee in the second year, and 5. with the payment of the first semester school fee in the third year. The total fund amount is 1,150,000 yen (230,000 yen per installment).

This fee will be used for health examination, insurance for training within Japan, and student union insurance (including academic fees insurance). Refer to the Application Guidebook/Application Form 2011 for details of the insurance.
The health care fee payments are 20,000 yen in the first year (on entrance) and 10,000 yen in the second and third year (with the first semester fee).

Applicants opting for film camera course will be required to pay an extra equipment purchase fee of approximately 120,000 yen, which includes darkroom equipment. Applicants opting for digital camera course will be required to be approximately 200,000 yen for a notebook computer and peripheral equipment, etc.Applicants who already possess equivalent photographic equipment will be asked to confirm the types of items already owned and provide missing items. The required equipment differs between academic years and seminars. Detailed explanation and consultation will be available during orientation.

Students will be required to pay actual cost of transportation up to locations of photo shoots. The total cost per month for developing, printing and purshasing supplies such as ink, as well as transportation fees, should add up to to 10,000-30,000 yen. |
