世界文化遺産　麗江古城
World Cultural Heritage...Lijiang Old Town

成都での安宿探し、、、時間がかかるものです
To find a guest house is not easy.

引率者は現在世界遺産の町　海抜2,400ｍのところにある
雲南省麗江に滞在しています
毎日雨が降っていますが涼しくて気持ちがいいです
I am now staying in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, a World
Heritage sight, which is located at the altitude of
2,400m. It is raining everyday, but cool and lovely.

ラサから成都に移動しました
皆既日食　皆さんはどこでご覧になりましたか
成都の曇り空も数分間真っ暗になりました
成都はパンダの四川省の省都
麻婆豆腐の町

We've come to Chengdu from Lasa.
Where did you see the solar eclipse yesterday?
The cloudy sky in Chengdu went black for a several minutes.
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan, where Pandas live.
Famous Mapodoufu is a little hot, but delicious.

学生たちはこの後それぞれの取材地へ向かいます
再集合は3週間後の8月11日、広州です
どんな成果を挙げてくるのか楽しみです
その後クアラルンプールに戻り
2回目のスクーリングが待っています

The students will go to their destinations.
Their next meeting place is Guangzhou on 11th of August
after three weeks from now.
I am looking forworad to seeing them and fruits what they would bear.
They will go back to Kuala Lumpur from Guangzhou and
have schooling for the second time over there.

ラサから南西へ片道約2時間のところにある峠（海抜4,700ｍ）に
行ってきました
そこか聖なる湖ヤムドロ・ヤムツォ湖を見下ろします
Yamdro yumtso Lake, the Tibetan Holy Lake, is situated
at an altitude of over 4,000m.
It is about two hours' drive from Lhasa toward southwest.

途中　水葬の場所に立ち寄りました　
川ははるかガンジス河へとつながっています
We stopped by the place of water burial.
The stream leads to the Holy Ganga.

翡翠色の湖とはるかかなた白銀のヒマラヤ
The lake like a glittering jade and snow-capped mountains far beyond

一昨日(7月17日）チベット・ラサに入りました
富士山山頂あたりと同じ高度にある町です
引率は歳のせいか高山病の症状に苦しんでいます
学生たちは皆元気いっぱいです
We are in Lhasa, Tibet, from the day before yesterday.
The city is located at the same altitude as the summit of　Fujisan.
Escorting Staff, who is old, suffers terrible headache from mountain
sickness, but the students are in blood.

二日目の昨日ポタラ宮を見学してきました
人間は凄いものを造るものだと感心しました
We visited Potala palace.
I was well impressed by wisdom, creativity and
a firm belief of human being.

昼は鍋料理　中身は豆腐、豚肉、野菜、きのこ等
胃にやさしく美味しかったです
We ate nabe with tofu, pork, vegetables and mushrooms　at lunch.

夕食後は皆で桃を買って食べました　甘くてジューシー
トロピカルではない　久しぶりに故郷の果物を味わいました
Peachs are sweet and juicy.

全員無事カトマンズに再集合
そして今日10時45分発のAIR CHINA機でヒマラヤ越え、成都へ向かいます
中国は10カ国目、いよいよフィールドワーク最後の国
成都で1泊後、明日チベット・ラサに入ります
All the students have come again to Kathmandu safe and sound.
We'll fly the Himalaya mountains to Chengdu this morning.
China is the tenth country for the students.
Tomorrow we are going to go to Lasa, Tibet.

BOUDDHANATH

Ekai Kawaguchi, on his way to Tibet, stayed here under the
protection of Buddha Bajra Lama.

The statue represents Buddha Bajra Lama and at its side
his grandson, Mr.Kumar Lama, who is now managing Boudhanath.

Mr. Mani Lama, Mr. Kumar's uncle, is a famous photographer.

DAY 108 KATHMANDU (2009/07/05) fair to shower

Day Second in Kathmandu:
Ms. Yun has come all the way from Tokyo to see us
with Japanese foods; natto, misoshiru, oshinko, umeboshi,
dorayaki, anmitsu... etc.

and next day;
Ken-ichi,going to the east of Nepal,where Mount Everest is.
Yuuki, to the west, where Annapurna is.

To my amazement, we can eat authentic hand-made soba
in Kathmandu.The Nepali climate does suit buckwheat-growing.
"Himalayan Soba Dokoro" is located at the hights looking down
the capital of Nepal.

Mr. Ashok, a nice guide speaking Japanese fluently,
asked us over for Nepali dinner at home.

ブッダガヤの朝食には　スジャータ粥
Sujata milk porridge or rice pudding at breakfast

今夜10時過ぎの夜行列車でデリーへ向かいます
そして明日デリーで3週間ぶりに全員集合
We are going to go to Dehli by night train tonight.
And tomorrow all the students will assemble in Dehli
after an interval of three weeks.
