今年も毎年恒例のマレーシアでのスクーリングが始まりました。

先日もご紹介した通り、ここ数日、学生たちは今で撮影した写真をプリントアウト
しながら、一日一日と高まる緊張感の中でスクーリングの準備に追われていました。

そして、遠路遥々日本から訪れるゼミ担当講師の到着を待つ彼らの表情は、
まるで近づきつつある嵐を予感するかのような・・・・

そして、とうとうあの方々がここ灼熱のマレーシアに到着されました。

スクーリングは個別の作品検討と合同での中間審査、個別面談というスケジュールで行います。
今回は、なんと出発から約２ヶ月間で平均ひとり１万枚以上の写真が撮影されていました。
山本さんにいたっては約18000枚(36枚撮りフィルムに換算すると500本)という膨大な撮影量!!

これだけの枚数の写真を数日で全部チェックし、彼らに今後の方向性を示すことは先生にとって
も過酷な作業です。

毎年、このスクーリングをきっかけに、学生の写真が徐々に作品として色づきはじめていくのですが、こんなに皆が撮影できているのは、FWが開講して以来はじめてのことで、量に比例して作品にいくつもの可能性を見いだすことができて今後の展開が楽しみな内容でした。

それでは、個別検討を中心に2009年海外FW前半スクーリングの模様をご紹介しましょう。

先生方との久々の再会に和やかなムードでスクーリングがスタート。

たまに私もお邪魔したりしながら授業は進みます。

以上のように怒濤のスクーリングの日々が開始しました。

現在、学生たちは、海外FW最初の山場であるスクーリングの準備をしています。

今年のスクーリングでは(株)ピクトリコ様よりインクジェット用紙をご協賛いただきました。
FWは、本当に多くの企業や人々のご支援によって成り立っていることを実感します。

申し遅れましたが、スクーリング＆シンガポール写真展期間の引率担当の長坂です。

ところで話は戻りますが、そう、あのピクトリコプロ・フォトペーパーです。
プロならば知らない人がいないほど定評のあるあの印画紙ベースの高級紙!!

学生が主に使用しているのは、この「ピクトリコプロ・フォトペーパー」。
プロフォトペーパー以外にも「GEKKOグリーン・ラベル」もご提供いただきました。

※写真がイマイチなのはご勘弁・・・蛍光灯しかないところで撮影してますので。

それでは、そんな幸せな彼らの奮闘ぶりを・・・・

と、最低でも一人数百枚のコンタクトプリントと写真を数日で出力しなければならないハードスケジュールです。内容は確認していませんので、明日からのスクーリングが今から楽しみです。

クアラルンプール滞在組は　卒業生アンディさん経営の
カフェ「Kissaten」へ　メニューは本格的和食中心
ちゃんこ鍋はアンディさん自らサービス　美味しく頂きました
アンディさんは一流の写真家であり同時にビジネスマンです
We went to café “Kissaten” run by Mr. Andy, a graduate from NPI.
He served us with “Chanko-nabe” .
Many thanks to Mr. Andy, who is a good business man
as well as a good photographer.

東京からフィールドワークの責任者長坂先生が来ました
これで小生の役目はひとまず終了です
今日5月19日　ベトナム・ホーチミン市経由で東京に戻ります

DAY 57 BANGKOK (2009/05/15) cloudy
2週間のタイ滞在を終え　
一行は5月13日午後2時45分バンコク発の列車で
マレーシア・バタワースへ向かいました
そして去年同様　タイ・マレーシア国境近くで列車は立ち往生　
3時間以上の遅れで国境にたどり着き　バスを乗り換え　
5月14日午後10時全員無事クアラルンプールにある学校施設到着　
管理人のフォト・フィールドワーク1期生徳田君とご対面　
同じく卒業生のウォンさんも駆けつけてくれました　
マレーシアでの滞在は　
途中写真展を開催するためシンガポールを含めて
6月10日まで　
そして6月11日にはいよいよインド・チェンナイへ向かいます
We left for Butterworth, Malaysia by train at 2:45pm, May 13th
after staying for two weeks in Thailand.
The train suddenly stopped near the Thailand/Malaysia border
and we got the border somehow more than three hours delay.
We changed from the train to the bus at the border and transferred to
another bus at Butterworth.
Finally we arrived at NPI school guest house at 10pm, May 14th safely.
The students met Mr. Tokuda and Mr. Wong who gradauted from NPI.
They will stay in Malaysia uｎtil June 10th
( the meantime they will go to Singapore where they will hold their
photo exhibition at Olympus gallery)
and leave for Chennai, India June 11th.

食堂代りにしている　ホテル横の小レストラン　2階はマッサージルームになっています
夜にはビールを飲みますが　夕涼みという感じもしません
ビール瓶の左側が小生が滞在しているホテル、右側は？
This is a little restaurant, which is located at the right side of the hotel,
where I often have dinner and there is a massage room on the second floor.
I drink beer in the evening, but I don’t feel cooling myself at all.
There is seen my hotel at the left side of the bottle

昨日、女子学生2名男子学生2名無事バンコク・シティ・インに戻りました
今日午後の列車でバタワース（マレーシア）に向かいます　
去年は線路事故で目的地に到達出来ませんでした　今年は大丈夫でしょう
学生たちが3月20日大阪を出発して55日が経ちました　
マレーシアは6カ国目の訪問国となります
Our two girls and two boys came back and checked into Bangkok City Inn
without any incidents yesterday.
We will leave Bangkok for Malasysia by train this afternoon.
We could not reach Butterworth, terminal station, because of some
railroad troubles last year. I hope we could this year.
Fifty five days have passed since the students left Osaka on March 20th
and Malaysia is the sixth country for them.

暑いですから　昼間はお坊さんにお布施をして　水をかけてもらいます
I ask a monk to water me with an offering in the daytime, because it is hot.

しかし　水浴び、水遊びがなんといっても一番ですね
シェムリアップ郊外　クーレン山奥で見た水辺の風景を懐かしく思い出します
But...bathing and playing in the water is best.
I remember a fine view of the waterside in the Kulen mountains, the surrounding of Siem Reap.

タイでは多くの人々が敬虔な仏教徒です
Most of Thai people are devout buddhists.

シェムリアップでキナールさんと遠足に行ったときのスナップをお見せします
Kbal Speanクバール・スピアンとPhnom Kulenはシェムリアップから
北へ50キロから60キロのところにあります
クバール・スピアンでは　シェムリアップ川の源流となっている流れに沿って歩きました　
川床には千本リンガと呼ばれる彫刻、ヒンドゥーの神々の浮彫が刻まれています
I show you a couple of snaps from the excursion I made with Mr. Kinar in Siem Reap.
Kbal Spean and Phnom Kulen lie about 50-60km north from Siem Reap.
We walked along the stream which is headwaters of Siem Reap River and
there are 1,000 lingas and carvings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses
on the riverbeds in Kbal Spean.

友来と賢一はバスで目的に向かうため　バンコク東バスターミナルへ行きました
Yuuki and Kenichi went to the eastern bus terminal where they will take
their buses to their destinations.

知佳と拓也はカオサン通りのゲストハウスへ
Tomoka and Takuya move to geust houses in Khaosan area.

彼らは5月12日火曜日再びバンコクの学校指定ホテルに戻ってきます
They will come back to this hotel on May 12th and I will be waiting for them, staying at this hotel.

4月29日水曜日　
シェムリアップに別れを告げ　カンボジア・タイの国境の町ポイペトへ移動　
驚いたことに　この1年の間に道路は見違えるように整備されていました
April 29th (Wed.)
We moved from Siem Reap to Poipet, which is on the border of Cambodia
and Thailand. I was surprised very much that the road has been paved
with asphalt perfectly in a year.

しかしスピードを出しすぎると、、、　横転したトラックを撮る拓也
But if one drives too fast… Takuya snapped the overturned lorry.

なんとポイペトまでわずか2時間半　去年までと同じカジノホテルで一泊　
It took only two hours and a half to drive to Poipet.
We stayed overnight at the same casino hotel as in the previous years.

4月30日木曜
午前7時　カンボジアの出国手続きを済ませ　ホテルに戻って朝食
午前9時　チェックアウト後　歩いてタイ側へ　入国手続きは極めてスムース　
ワゴン車もすぐに見つかり　10時前バンコクに向け発車オーライ　
ところが出発と同時にスコールに会ってしまいました　
途中去年と同じドライブインで休憩　
午後2時前無事バンコクの繁華街のど真ん中にあるホテルに到着　
タイはフィールドワーク4期生にとって5カ国目の国となります
April 39th (Thu.)
At 7am we went through the departure formalities and came back
to the hotel for breakfast.
At 9am we walked for Thailand and passed across the border smoothly.
We could find a minibus in a moment and left for Bangkok before 10am.
As soon as we started, we were caught in a shower. On the way
we took a rest at the same place as last year and arrived at a hotel
which is right in the middle of downtown Bangkok before 2pm.
Thailand is the fifth country for the students.
