昨夜、ホーチミン市に全員集合
大阪南港を出発してから３週間が経った
みな元気はつらつ
All the members are assembled in HCMC last night.
Ｔｈｒｅｅ　weeks have passed since they left Osaka Nanko.
They are travelling with bounce and vigor.

今日はベトナム最後の日午前中、街を歩いてみた
It's a last day today in Vietnam.
So I walked around the city a little this morning.

五十嵐先生、一期生や二期生を驚かせた、おびただしい数のバイク
夜明けとともにバイクの群れが猛スピードで行きかう
There are countless motorbikes which surprised
Mr. Igarashi, a former excellent leader of Photo Fieldwork (PFW),
and the members of the first and second graduating class of PFW .
No sooner has the day broken than I see swarms of motorbikes
come and go at high speed.

学生たちはベトナム戦争を知らない

グエン・ベトとドクは1981年結合双生児として生まれた
アメリカ軍が大量に散布した枯葉剤の被害者であるといわれている
1988年ベトナムと日本の医師団による双子の分離手術が成功した
2006年ドクは結婚した
2007年ベトが亡くなった 享年26歳
ドクはいまツーズー病院でコンピュータ技術者として働いている

Ｓｔｕｄｅｎｔｓ　don't know the Vietnam War.

Nguyen Viet and Duc were born as a conjointed twin in 1981.
They are the victims apparently of defoliants used by The U.S. military.
A team of Vietnamese and Japanese doctors successfully separated the twins in 1988.
Duc married in 2006.
Viet died in 2007. He was 26.
Duc is now working for Tu Du Hospital as a computer technician.

I saw one famous picture.

ダン・タイソンのＣＤショパンピアノ曲集を買った
アジア人として始めてショパン・コンクールで優勝したベトナム人ピアニスト
母は戦争中も音のならない木製キーボードを担いで、
息子の練習のための場所を探した。
ポーランドとベトナムには共通点がある　
他国に侵略され分割された歴史、人民は苦しみ、
長い戦いのあと独立と自由を勝ち取った

I bought a CD of Chopin's pieces played by Dan Thai Son, a Vietnamese pianist,
who won the first prize of Chopin piano contest, the first as a pianist from Asia.
Mother carried a wooden keyboard on her back,
looking for the place where her son could keep practicing during the War.
There are similarities in history between Poland and Vietnam.
The countries had been invaded and divided by other countries.
People suffered much. They gained independence and freedom
after the long-term wars and struggles.

バイクに乗ってみた　riding on a bike

郵便局　Post Office
ネットの時代、ポストに入れる手紙はsnail mailなどと言われているが
郵便局はいつもにぎやか
This is an age of Internet today. Letters put into the mailbox are called
" snail mail"... but tｈｅ post office is crowded with people.

やっと出会ったアオザイの麗人
Finally I met a beauty in "Ao-dai".

ベトナムそしてインドシナ最高峰Fansipan(標高3,134ｍ)は、この方角なのだが、、、
“Fansipan”, the tallest mountain in Vietnam and in Indochina 3,134m
above sea level, must be this way. But a fog　again...

学生たち明日バスで次ぎの訪問地カンボジア・プノンペンに向かう
Students will be bound for Phnom Penh, Cambodia, by bus tomorrow.

女流作家ズォン・トゥー・フォンの小説「虚構の楽園（邦題）」と
「愛と幻想のハノイ（邦題）」、はじめて読んだベトナムの小説
興味く読んだ
Two novels by Duong Thu Huong,“Beyond Illusions”and
“Paradise of the Blind”, are very interesting.
